Throughout his life, Dr. Miller has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to civic engagement and community service. He began by chairing the Transportation Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and went on to play an active role in Kiwanis, holding numerous leadership positions. His passion for the arts led him to serve on the board of the Santa Maria Philharmonic as well as People for Leisure and Youth, Inc., where his leadership and advocacy made a lasting impact.
Dr. Miller has remained a steadfast supporter of nonprofit arts organizations, particularly the Philharmonic, contributing both financially and through his continued presence at concerts, galas, and community events. His enthusiasm and encouragement have been instrumental in sustaining and strengthening the organization over the years.
Equally notable is Dr. Miller’s lifelong dedication to youth development. His involvement began with youth equestrian programs, where he supported aspiring young riders and agricultural students. He has judged rodeo scholarship applicants, donated equipment to 4-H clubs, and provided care for fair animals at his ranch for students without adequate facilities. In addition, he has awarded hundreds of college scholarships to students from Righetti High School, helping to shape the futures of countless young individuals.
